S2S continues banding with team at JFK Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary on Tobey Beach, NY.

S2S Director Michael Cohn continues to develop his skills as an experienced wildlife field guide. Near his hometown on Long Island, Mike has been working with local banders to gain more experience handling birds while learning more about their migration patterns and eating habits. The team was recently interviewed by the local news, and Mike has learned a great deal from these local experts. Throughout the fall, migrations lead many birds into their nets. and the team is well positioned is gather critical data about these beautiful creatures. Mike is particularly interested in gaining hours of experience towards a banding license. This tool will better enable him to help veterans learn more about ornithology in addition to supporting our work with the American Kestrel Nest Box Network at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia.
